6/24/2018 0 Comments 6 Months in My Fitness PlannerTime for some #PlannerTruth. At the end of last year, I was not planning on having a fitness planner. My mini fitness planner did not work the way I wanted it to, and there was not enough space for me. I was gifted a beautiful Happy Planner box kit and I wanted to use it, so I decided to give the fitness planner another try. I'm so glad I did! I now love my fitness planner and I have made it work for me! Click "Read More" to learn how I changed my planner to fit me!

1/15/2017 0 Comments My Healthy LivingI think everyone has a resolution related to getting healthy. The problem is, no one really takes it seriously. This year, I want to. I am trying out for track in the spring, and I want to build my strength. I have many planners- but sometimes people use them for looks. I have been there too, I decorate a whole spread dedicated to tracking when I workout. Then I post all about it on Social media but I end up sitting on the couch 5 minutes later. It is time for me to be serious in getting healthy and I thought I could share my journey over here on my blog. RoutineOne of the key parts for me is routine. I will remember to do something if I have been doing it every single day for that month. One strategy is that I am going to try to meal plan on Sundays so I know what I will be generally eating every day that week. My whole family has joined me in this quest and just this morning we started! After sleeping in- sleep IS a part of your health-we headed out to Whole Foods for a healthy waffle recipe. We got back and made it pretty quickly in the kitchen! It was that easy. We also bought healthy toppings that are also yummy. It is simple, but you even don't have to go that far. I generally have 2 Ego waffles each morning- anyone else? If I didn't feel like taking the drastic leap to whole wheat waffles and real maple syrup, maybe still use your yummy Aunt Jemima syrup. These tiny adjustments can actually be really beneficial to your health. Another routine to work on is an exercise routine! I will touch more about this when I talk about planners, but the basics is to scour Pinterest to find some workouts that look appealing to you. I have some of my fav exercises below, but it can be as simple as jumping rope. To encourage you to workout, find a gym buddy or come up with a great playlist.(Some songs of mine are listed below) Having your Planners work for Y-O-U!If you are a planner, you maybe familiar with functional planning. This is straight pen to paper and getting stuff done! One of the best things I did for my health was get a Fitness Planner. You can incorporate one into your daily planner, but I bought a Mini Fitness Planner by Mambi. Planners help you stay accountable and I know I have used mine for that very purpose. I schedule different workouts every other day to keep it interesting, but to establish a routine.(More on that here.) For example, on Monday I will do 5 push ups and 10 lunges per side. On Tuesday, I will do 6 push ups and 10 squats, and then on Wednesday, I will do 5 push ups and 10 lunges per side again. My planner helps me keep track of my water, workout schedule, and my vitamin intake. Going back to functional planning, you can use this planner to do straight pen to paper logging, or you can decorate it to motivate yourself. I really hope that some of you find this post valuable as I do. Please don't give up on working out! "If it was easy, everyone would do it". That's why most stop exercising. Thank you for joining me on this lovely Sunday and please check out the different workout songs below. But everything else... Sweetest Devotion- Adele
